Peter Lin, Ph.D., a New York licensed
psychologist,
received an M.S. in Biostatistics from Columbia University and a Ph.D.
in Clinical Psychology (Health Emphasis) from Yeshiva University (Ferkauf
Graduate School & Albert Einstein College of Medicine). His primary
clinical training was at Weill Cornell Medical College, and his
postdoctoral training was at the HIV Research Center of Columbia
University. Dr. Lin’s previous training in therapeutic modalities
includes experiences in individual and group psychotherapy, both brief
and long-term interventions with various theoretical perspectives,
including cognitive-behavioral, interpersonal, and psychodynamics.
Throughout his clinical trainings, he has worked with young adults,
adults, and elderly who suffered from anxiety, depression, and
personality disorders at Beth Israel Medical Center, NYU-Bellevue
Hospital, Mount Sinai Medical Center, and New York Hospital. Dr. Lin
has great interest in the parallelism between Western psychology and
Buddhism. His research interest focuses on mindfulness meditation and
HIV-related distress. Currently, Dr. Lin is a college professor at St.
Joseph’s College, and he has a private practice in New York City. As a
Taiwanese immigrant, his professional goal is to provide mental health
service for the Asian minorities in this country.
